There are several tasks you can be working on while you are waiting for your server to arrive. Take a look and feel free to call with any questions you have or visit our online scheduling tool to schedule a time for help!
Company Logo and Template Example
If you haven’t already, please email us a high-resolution copy of your company logo(s), and a proposal that reflects your current version of proposals, so we can attempt to re-create it. We have a graphic designer on staff that will replicate your proposal using our templates. These templates can be modified, duplicated, and created at any time, so this is just to get you started. Template graphics can be changed and customized by you if you have the ability to create properly sized images. Note: You will have the opportunity to add your company logo in the Onboarding Wizard embedded in iPoint.
You should consider how you will be using iPoint and Quickbooks for invoicing purposes. iPoint supports many different accounting options, including Line Item Invoicing, Progressive Invoicing, Request For Payment, Liability, Use Tax, and Retainage. There are advantages to each depending on your inventory tracking, state tax laws, and other regulations. Click Here to learn more about the different methods iPoint supports.
Depending on where your information is coming from, iPoint will most likely need the exported files from your current software re-formatted to line up with our information fields. We have made this process easier than ever by providing you with templates for your current information. If you are importing from QuickBooks, iPoint can sync directly in most cases, so you will not need to export.
These templates can be used to properly format your information to be imported into iPoint. It is imperative that the fields in the template match EXACTLY to the fields you are looking to sync them with. If you need any help, please don’t hesitate to call (800) 535-4101 or create a support ticket on our website: http://www.ipointsolutions.net.
Note: We have the ability to import item details from D-Tools, Simply Reliable, or BidMagic without using our Items Import Template. Simply export your item list from those programs as a .csv file and send it to us directly.
- Be sure to export only the items you want to import into iPoint —or—
- Take the time to clean up the exported list so that you aren’t importing a bunch of dead or expired items.
Uploading from Portal
iPoint also integrates with a company, Portal, to import items directly into iPoint. You will need to have a Portal account set up in order to utilize this functionality. Visit Portal.io to sign up. They will take you through the process and collect the information they need in order to create your account. By using Portal to import your items, a lot of the hard work is done for you. Portal will provide the items basic information, including the Manufacturer, Category, Type, Picture, Cost, and Price. You will still need to add your own information, such as Labor Phase, Time, etc. but this is a great way to build a database if you are not importing from the previous software.
We recommend this scanner as it is the one we used to test all the barcode components in iPoint. It is wireless and can connect to both a computer or to an iPad, making it easy for you to move around the warehouse.
You need to have a monitor attached to the server in order for our support team to be able to log in to do maintenance. This Dummy Plug will allow you to NOT have a monitor connected but still allow remote connectivity from iPoint.
