- What happens with duplicate email addresses?
- Duplicate emails are handled differently depending on the type of email campaign.
.
Date Driven campaigns – this is a marketing event like a store sale or a manufacturer’s Labor Day specials- The email marketing piece will only be mailed one time, regardless of how many times the address appears in the Sending List.
Event-Based campaigns – this is an email sent when a specific trigger occurs in iPoint. For example, an email based on the customer’s purchase of a specific product. Or emails sent when a specific Lead Status is set.
- Duplicate emails will be sent if the trigger occurs on different days. (example: A customer service survey sent once a work order is complete – the customer would have the option to fill out the survey for each work order.)
- If the customer is added to a list multiple times in a single day, only one email will be sent. Duplicates will be repressed. (example: A thank you email is sent when a customer pays – the customer pays 2 invoices today, so they will only get 1 email.)
- The email marketing piece will only be mailed one time, regardless of how many times the address appears in the Sending List.
