The Serial Number field is an open text field where you can enter a serial number, MAC address, or even general notes.
If you want to enter a MAC address, enter “MAC: MA-CA-DD-RE-SS-01” (or “MAC: MA:CA:DD:RE:SS:02”, depending on the format of the item’s MAC address).
Sometimes Two is Better Than One
For items where the quantity is two or more, you can enter multiple serial numbers (or MAC addresses).

You can edit the Serial Number field from several modules in iPoint: iOS WO Parts, Invoices, the Product Manager, and the Customer Details.
WO Parts (iOS):
- From an iOS Work Order
- Click the Parts icon
- Select a part
- Tap the Serial Numbers field to open it
- Type in the Serial Number / MAC address in the open textbox OR
- Tap the Scan to Add button to scan a serial number
- Tap the Done button

- From an Invoice
- Click the white Delivered button for an item you want to edit
- In the Transaction Details popover window, type in the Serial Number / MAC address in the Serial Numbers field, OR
- Click the Scan Serial # button to scan a serial number
- Click the Close button

- From the Product Manager
- Click the Details button for the item you want to edit
- In the PO Details popover window, go to the Tracking tab
- Type the Serial Number / MAC address in the Serial Numbers field
- Click the Close button

- Go to the Items section
- Click the pencil icon to the right of the item you want to edit
- In the Item Details popover window, type the Serial Number / MAC address in the Serial Number field
