Make sure the font that was installed is NOT a variable weight font (meaning it contains bold, light, medium all in one font). Instead, install each version of the font separately.

Also, make sure to install TrueType fonts on Windows machines (.ttf). Mac can use either OpenType or TrueType but FM on Windows is only compatible with TrueType
(Note: In one instance the TTF files were in a folder labeled eBook and the OpenType ones were in a folder called Desktop which led to the wrong type of font being installed)
