Merry Christmas!!!

We’ve been hard at work getting all of our inventory ducks in a row to make sure that you have the tools you need to start 2023 on the right foot. Here are the major changes we’ve made in addition to various bug fixes.

Changes Made System Wide

FIFO Inventory valuation

  • In accordance with GAAP accounting, iPoint now uses FIFO for tracking inventory valuation. This is a change effective when you are updated and moving forward. It doesn’t not affect your past inventory valuation. Your inventory value should be the same after the update as it was before the update.
  • Running the Asset Value report will now be much faster.
    • If you’d prefer to use LIFO, you can switch to that in Settings > Module settings > Items

Item Receipts

  • We’ve changed the way that you receive items on POs. The reason for this change is twofold:
    1. This guarantees an accurate receiving date for partial receipts, ensuring your inventory counts are correct
    2. We mimicked how QB does Item Receipts so the sync of the receipts between iPoint and QB should be seamless (please note that QBO doesn’t have item receipts and so the syncing price for those using QBO is unchanged)
  • You can learn more about how the item receipts work here or watch the video below
    • If you are experiencing issues with Item Receipts, you can turn them off in Settings > Module Settings > Beta
